Overview

Riot came to WAR to create a reveal trailer annoucing a collaboration with Xbox to bring their entire lineup to Game Pass. I served as senior 3D designer that helped build the look and feel of the environments a featured characters as well as how the featured footage would animate and luminate the scene.

How can Footage be projected?

I started off by doing some initital lighting tests to help answer a few questions: 1: Whatt type of materials can we play with? 2: How would the footage look like if it was projected on the stone sculptures of the characters? 3: How can we integrate typograpghy?

Light it up!

After the inital tests we expolored ways of having LED panels embedded in to the environment behind the characters, giving a cinematic and dramtic feel as the camera rotates around the characters, slowly revealing them. This gave us the opportunity to play with light and have type that was framed in a readable manner.
